Women's Swimming Faces ONU in Friday Night Meet

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College w0men's swimming team opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday with the annual Friday night meet with Ohio Northern University. Events are slated to begin at 6 p.m.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 23rd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. Austin Veltman, a graduate of Hope College, is in his fourth seaosn as ONU's head swimming and diving coach. 

Who to Watch: Emma Thompson finished runner-up in two events in the season-opener - the 100-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle while Anna Endsley also had two top-three finishes, in teh 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle events. The other top-three individual finish came from freshman Sierra Szuhay, who placed second in the 100-yard backstroke.
