WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team stretched its winning streak to four games with a 1-0 shutout victory of Albion College on homecoming Saturday.

The Fightin' Quakers, who did not allow a shot in the first half, nearly broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when a long-distance shot from Hanna Greaney caromed off the crossbar. Wilmington would take nine other shots in the first 45 minutes, but could not beat Albion goalkeeper, Megan Bricely.

Wilmington would fire five shots in the first 20 minutes of the second half including two from Kaitlin Evans which went wide right. The Quakers kept up the offensive pressure and earned a corner kick on the 66th minute. The third time was the charm for Evans as she buried home a cross from Alex Vestal for the game's only goal.

Albion took all of its four shots in the second half including two on net, but Leda Moyer saved both to preserve her third shutout in four games. Bricely took the loss for the Britons despite making seven saves in the game.

Wilmington held a 19-4 edge in shots along with a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Evans and Taylor Leake fired four shots each for the Quakers while Alex Radzville took two for Albion.

The Quakers improve to 6-2-0 with the victory while the Britons drop to 3-5-1 with the loss. Wilmington opens Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play at home against Heidelberg University next Saturday.
