@DubC_XCTR men win four events at Night Moves

The Wilmington College men's track and field team won four events as the Fightin' Quakers placed third in the Wilmington College "Night Moves" Invitational Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Three of the four event wins came in the field events.
  • Sophomore Kalvin Butts (St. Johns, MI/St. Johns) won the hammer (44.98) and was fifth in the discus (39.96).
  • Senior Antone Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) scored in three field events, winning the high jump (1.95), placing fifth in the triple jump (12.14) and seventh in the long jump (5.62).
  • Junior Zak Kruer (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) won the pole vault (4.57).
  • Senior Linden Ayoki (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) scored in a pair of events, placing third in the discus (42.99) and seventh in the shot put (12.84). Freshman Ethan Hurtt (Frankfort, OH/Adena) was second in the hammer (43.33), senior Leevi Stump (Mount Vernon, OH/Mount Vernon) was fifth in the long jump (6.15) and sophomore Alex Tillapaugh (Wilmington, OH/Wickenberg (AZ)) was fifth in the javelin (40.83).
  • The other event victory came as junior Chase Manica (Shelbyville, KY/Shelby County), sophomore Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond), sophomore Travis Scheadler (Goshen, OH/Goshen) and freshman Gino Hinton (Maple Heights, OH/Maple Heights) won the 4x100 relay (43.37).
  • Three of the four members of the 4x100 team scored in other individual events.
  • Scheadler placed fifth in the 200 (22.91) and sixth in the 100 (11.33), while Hinton was eighth in the 100 (11.42.)
  • Burnam added a pair of third-place finishes in the 110 hurdles (15.95) and the triple jump (12.92).
  • Senior Dominic King (Bettsville, OH/Bettsville) was sixth in the 5000 (16:31.35), sophomore Tony Wydra (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) was fourth in the 3000 steeplechase (11:05.03) and sophomore Eric Flynn, Jr. (Cleveland, OH/Central Catholic) was third in the 400 hurdles (57.78) to round out the scoring.
