UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III ALL-GREAT LAKES REGION TEAMS
KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Wilmington College men's soccer senior Niklas Martensson has garnered Third Team All-Great Lakes Region honors from United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA).
Martensson led the Fightin' Quakers' offensive efforts during the 2018 season scoring 16 goals and dishing out five assists for a total of 37 points. A First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection, Martensson finished second in the OAC in scoring and third in total points.
The Torna Halllestad, Sweden, native scored two hat tricks as well as scoring both goals in a 2-1 overtime victory against then-nationally ranked the University of Mount Union on Oct. 6. Martensson departs the program with 36 career goals, one of the highest totals for the program since Wilmington became a member of NCAA Division III prior to the 1991 season.
The Quakers concluded their 2018 campaign with a 9-8-0 overall record as well as narrowly missing the OAC Tournament with a 4-5-0 conference mark.
