The Quakers got off to a fast start, leading 7-0 less than three minutes into the game as Domenic Farley made a layup before Gavin Heimlich drilled a three and Jayden Lewis made a jumper. Their lead would grow to 14-3 with 14:44 remaining, but then Wittenberg began to storm back. The Tigers used a 22-9 run to take a 25-23 advantage with 6:19 left in the first half. With 2:35 left in the first half, Wittenberg held a slight 33-32 lead, but they would use a quick 9-4 flurry to take a six-point 42-36 lead into the locker room.

Wilmington quickly tied the game in the second half, using an 8-2 spurt to push it to 44-44. Ben Golan, Obed Achirem, Lewis, and Farley all scored during the run, as 16:35 remained in the contest. The two teams would battle to 51-51 before a 5-0 Tigers flurry gave them the 56-51 lead with 10:58 to play. Neither team would pull away as the score was eventually all square at 68-68 with only 3:06 left in the game.

Wilmington went ahead on a Farley layup before a pair of free throws from Wittenberg tied it back up at 70 a piece. However, the Quakers would put the game away with a huge three-pointer from Golan and a Farley layup to seize the momentum at 75-70.
