Women's Cross Country Opens 2023 Season In Shelbyville, Indiana

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's cross country team opens the 2023 cross country season in style out of the state. The squad heads to Shelbyville, Indiana for the Grizzly Invitational. 

The Schedule: The 5,000-meter races shoot off at 10:00 AM on Saturday. 

The Competition: The Quakers go head-to-head against other Division III competition. 

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 28th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Fightin' Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Squad: The team has a few returning names this season. Bella Stevens, Kaitlyn Rausch and Kolby Gluchowski kick off their junior seasons with the Quakers.
