WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's cross country team heads into regionals week coming off of the hottest regional ranking (10th) it has ever had as a team. Two weeks removed from a fourth-place finish in one of the hardest conferences in the Great Lakes Region, the Quakers travel down to Shelbysville, IN to keep the hot streak moving.

The Race: The men's 8,000-meter race shoots off at 11:00 AM to start the action.

The Region: The region consists of 30+ teams in which the Quakers will be competing against. In 2019, the last Great Lakes Regional Championship, Calvin took home the team victory on the men's side.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 26th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Fightin' Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Squad: The Quakers are coming off of the hottest meet of the season as a team. The top five runners averaged 26:33 all finishing in the top 50. Simon Heys and Noah Tobin look to lead the squad, after both received all-conference honors two weeks ago. The team is familiar with the course and look to use this to their advantage.
