Men's Cross Country Heads to the Home of the Tigers

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Week number two, meet number three for the Quakers. The men's cross country team looks to stay in stride with the performance from last weekend. The team heads to Wittenberg to face off against old conference mates.  

The Race: The men's 8k race will go off at 11:45 after the women's 6k.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by hosts, Wittenberg University, as well as Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan University, Denison, Kenyon, Wooster, Depauw, Earlham, Marietta, Baldwin Wallace and Central State.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 26th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Fightin' Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Squad: The Quakers finished last weekend's meet with 5 runners in the top 25 with an average time around 26:40. The team will look to continue the standard set in week 1.
