Men's Cross Country Faces off at All-Ohio Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington Collegemen's cross country team has its first opportunity to see how strong and resilient the team is as they head to Cedarville, Ohio, for the All-Ohio Championships. This will be one of the most competitive fields for the Quakers this regular season. 

The Race: The men's championship race will lead off at 2 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joining a loaded field of teams. There will be over 25 teams from across all divisions in Ohio. 

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 26th season as head cross country coach at Wilmington College. A 1993 graduate of Wilmington, Combs was a member of the only cross country team to win a conference title in school history. Also the head track & field coach at the College, Combs led the Fightin' Quakers to two top-10 finishes nationally with a sixth place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and a seventh place mark at the 2004 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Squad: The Quakers will be led by Simon Heys and Noah Tobin, who won back to back Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) runner of the week. The rest of the team looks to continue to compete as they have finished third two weeks in a row.

Up Next: Wilmington will have a week off before traveling out of state for the second time this season. This time they will travel to the Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
