Men's Swimming to Compete at Corbiere-Merion Invitational This Weekend

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's swimming team closes the 2021 calendar year with a trip to Delaware, Ohio, for the Corbiere-Merion Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University this weekend. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Coach: Trip Breen is in his 23rd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. 

Who to Watch: Austin Reed, the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week, has the team's best marks in freestyle events while Jacob Worley (backstroke) and Cameron Bolen (breaststroke) are expected to compete in their events. Aaron Polk has been the Fightin' Quakers' best butterflyer while Michael Phillippe's time of 2:10.62 at the double dual in Lexington, Kentucky, is Wilmington's fastest time in the 200-IM.
