Men's Swimming to Host Ohio Northern Friday Evening

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's swimming team opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday with the annual Friday night meet with Ohio Northern University. Events are slated to begin at 6 p.m.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 23rd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. Austin Veltman, a graduate of Hope College, is in his fourth seaosn as ONU's head swimming and diving coach. 

Who to Watch: Austin Reed placed in the top three of both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events in the season-opening meet at Baldwin Wallace University last Saturday. Michael Phillipppe finished just behind his teammates in the 500-yard freestyle and also earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard IM. Cameron Bolen was the other Quaker to place in the top three of two individual events in Berea - the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.
