WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team puts its unbeaten record on the line Wednesday vs. Franklin College. Kickoff from Williams Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Franklin. Wilmington is 5-0-1 coming off of a rousing road win at Denison Saturday. Franklin College is 2-4-0 and are currently riding high on a two game win streak. 

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his fourth year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, got the program within a shootout victory of playing for an OAC Tournament title in the spring of 2021. He worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Cody Graman is in his fourth season coaching at Franklin College.

The Players: The Quakers boast a prolific offense with two players, Yusef Muqtadir and Elorm Dogbey, having scored four goals each this season. Junior Jeffry Vasquez is putting together a great non-conference run with three goals and two assists. Michael Owusu is a key facilitator leading the team with three assists. Talented freshman Jon Moore leads the way for Franklin College with four goals on the year. 

Regional Rankings: Wilmington sits third in the United Soccer Coaches' most recent regional rankings. Additionally, the Quakers are receiving votes to be ranked in the national Top 25 Poll.

Series History: Wilmington is 8-0-0 against Franklin since the 1998 season. In their last meeting Wilmington soundly defeated Franklin by a final score of 11-0. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
