2021 Fall Men's Soccer Schedule Revealed

WILMINGTON, Ohio - After navigating through a unique 2021 spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wilmington College men's soccer team is anxious to return to the pitch for a normally-time season this fall. The Fightin' Quakers, under the direction of 2007 alumnus Alex Van der Sluijs, won the program's first postseason game in 15 seasons with a 2-1 victory over Capital University at Williams Stadium in an OAC Tournament quarterfinal. Five individuals garnered All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) recognition on a squad that came within a shootout victory of a berth in the OAC Tournament title game.

The 2021 fall season begins with a road contest in the Quaker Bowl Rivalry game against Earlham College on Sept. 1. The Quakers return home for the annual Kiwanis Classic that weekend and are scheduled to face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) members Manchester University and Mount St. Joseph University. Road contests at Kalamazoo College (Sept. 11) and at Denison University (Sept. 18) as well as home contests with Wittenberg University (Sept. 14), Franklin College (Sept. 22) and Geneva College (Sept. 25) round out the month.

The OAC schedule begins with road games at Heidelberg University and Muskingum University on Oct. 2 and Oct. 6 respectively before returning to Williams Stadium for a date with the University of Mount Union on Oct. 9. A road contest in Ada against Ohio Northern University (Oct. 13) follows with two more home contests against Marietta College and Otterbein University on Oct. 16 and Oct. 20 respectively. The regular season closes out with road games to Northeast Ohio against Baldwin Wallace University (Oct. 23) and John Carroll University (Oct. 30) with a senior night contest against Capital University on Oct. 27 sandwiched in between.

Should Wilmington qualify for the OAC Tournament like it did in the spring of 2021, that postseason event would begin in early November. The Quakers will be looking to build on a unique 2021 spring season which featured a 7-3-1 overall record and a berth in the OAC Tournament semifinals.
