Men's Soccer Hosts BW on Senior Night

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team hosts Baldwin Wallace University for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Williams Stadium on Monday evening. Kickoff for the Senior Night contest is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Fightin' Quakers enter the contest with a 5-1-0 record after a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Otterbein University on Thursday evening. The Yellow Jackets are an even 2-2-2 on the season after a 1-0 loss at home to John Carroll University on Thursday.

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his third year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Reid Ayers is in his 19th season as BW's head men's soccer coach. He also spent 15 years (2002-17) as the head women's soccer coach at BW.

The Players: Elorm Dogbey leads the Wilmington offense with five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. Zach Burgmeier and Ian Molftenter are the other Quakers to have found the back of the net multiple times. Goalkeeper Felix Maurer, the former OAC Defensive Player of the Week, carries a 0.52 goals against average and has been a part of four shutouts. Nick Surowicz is the lone Yellow Jacket to record multiple goals scored on the season.

Senior Night: A brief ceremony for the following seniors - Ian Molfenter, Zach Burgmeier, J.C. BrewerThomas Sousa and Fisher Lewis - will be held prior to the contest.

Series History: Wilmington is 14-6-3 against BW since becoming an OAC member prior to the 2000 season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
