WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's soccer team came from a goal down to defeat Otterbein University 2-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action at Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

The Cardinals held a 6-3 advantage in shots in the first half and scored first as Will Isaac buried a low shot in the 33rd minute. otterbein would take that 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Fightin' Quakers ramped up their offensive pressure in the second half, outshooting the hosts 10-6 in the period as well as earning eight corner kicks and surrendering none. The visitors' sixth shot of the half found the back of the net as Elorm Dogbey scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the contest. Six minutes later, shortly after a corner kick, Wilmington took the lead as Vincent Kartengren netted his first collegiate goal, one that proved to be a game-winner.

"What a big time win for our guys," Head Men's Soccer Coach Alex Van der Sluijs said. "Otterbein is a very good team and it was a battle from start to finish. We were creating chances early and just weren't finishing, so I felt confident we would eventually get one. To come back from a goal down is a true reflection of the character of this group"

Felix Maurer, the reigning OAC Defensive Player of the Week, earned the victory making two saves on three shots faced. Andrew McIlvory made six saves on eight shots and took the loss for the Cardinals. 

Dogbey and Ian Molfenter fired three shots each for Wilmington while Yusef Muqtadir and Svein Hakkon-Jansen each took two shots. Silver Abraham led Otterbein with four shots in defeat.

Wilmington (5-1-0) hosts Baldwin Wallace University on Monday (note the day change due to the Easter holiday).
