Football Heads to Baldwin Wallace Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College football team opens a two-game road swing to Northeast Ohio this weekend when the Fightin' Quakers face Baldwin Wallace University in at George Finnie Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Fightin' Quakers are 1-5 overall and 1-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition after a 35-26 loss at the hands of Marietta College on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are 5-1 on the season after a 42-28 road victory at Muskingum University.

The Coaches: Bryan Moore, a 1999 graduate of Hiram College, begins his third season leading Wilmington's football program. Moore began instilling his vision on the program having brought in two large freshman classes. He has three victories over Earlham College and snapped a 40-game OAC losing streak by defeating Capital University in his first season. More recently, the Quakers defeating Ohio Northern for the first time since 1956 on Sept. 21. Previously, Moore spent time at both Bluffton University and Heidelberg. Jim Hilvert is in his third season as BW's head football coach. Prior to that, he spent two years at La Salle High School in Cincinnati and as the head coach at (then) Thomas More College.

The Offense: Kyle Barrett leads Wilmington's passing offense averaging nearly 300 yards through the air and has an efficiency rating of 149.5. His two favorite targets, Ace Taylor and Itika Wynn Jr., have both hauled in 47 receptions while Wynn Jr. is second in the OAC in receiving yards per game at 118.0. Luke Richardson, Wilmington's third target, has 19 receptions and averages 28.0 yards per catch. Gino Hinton Jr. rushes for 44.8 yards per game. Jon Murray Jr. leads the BW rushing attack with 442 total yards while Iyan Mitchell has 28 receptions for 534 yards. The Yellow Jackets have split time at quarterback with Keagan Armitage and A.J. Miller both throwing for over 750 yards.

The Defense: Tavion Bryant and Ameer Jackson both have at least 60 tackles for Wilmington including Bryant's team-best nine tackles for loss. Tre'Quez Parks is the other leading Quaker tackles with 56 tackles and two sacks. The Yellow Jackets trio of Josh Liberati, Jordyn Johnson and Nick Pankow has over 40 tackles for the Yellow Jackets each.
