Spring Senior Salute - Baseball's Jesse Walker

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Throughout the coming months, the Wilmington College athletics department will be highlighting senior student-athletes who had their senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Today's senior salute is Jesse Walker. A four-year member of the program, Walker has pitched over 19 innings in his career wearing the Green & White. He tallied 11 striekouts including seven during his freshman season.

What is your major? - Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Performance

What is your favorite class at Wilmington College? - Senior Exercise Science Thesis

What is your favorite memory with the baseball program? - Getting an at bat my freshman year against Wright State-Lake.

What are your plans after graduation? - I will be attending New York Chiropractic College in September in hopes to become a chiropractor.

Do you see yourself returning to Wilmington to compete in 2021? - I do not see myself coming back to compete due to graduation.

What is your message to underclassmen on the impact of COVID-19? - Take the time to get to know all your teammates because you never know when it's the last time you'll see them. Your teammates can leave you with lasting impressions and friendships that will last forever. Give the game of baseball everything you have because when it's your last game, you will wish you did more. Never be satisfied with previous results and keep pushing yourself to be better than the day before.
