WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team will face the Capital Comets Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Quakers need a good result to stay in the hunt for a conference tournament bid. 

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. Wilmington is currently in sixth in the OAC and enjoys a half game lead on seventh place Heidelberg. Capital is in second place in the OAC and is undefeated in their last eight matches, most recently drawing with Ohio Northern  3-3.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk returns to coach his 30th year for the Wilmington women's soccer team. Spirk has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances including five berths in the regional semifinal ("Sweet 16") round. Six Wilmington teams have claimed regular season conference titles under Spirk's tutelage including three OAC titles in a span of four years from 2000-03. Matt Ogden enters his seventh season as head coach of the Capital University women's soccer program. In his five seasons, Capital has finished first or second in the OAC standings in all but one season but has made the OAC Tournament every year.

The Players: Junior forward Maddie Scott scored her fourth goal of the season in the Quakers most recent match. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Galloway leads the OAC with 117 saves on the season and ranks fourth overall in save percentage. Avery Hart is the leading goal scorer for the Comets with six goals this season. 

Series History: Wilmington is 1-9 in its previous 10 contests against Capital. The Quakers last defeated the Comets in 2013.
