Women's Soccer Looks to Continue Hot Streak vs. Muskingum

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team (4-5-1, 1-0-0) puts its three game winning streak on the line vs. Muskingum (2-9-0, 0-1-0 ) Wednesday night in Williams Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. Wilmington enters Wednesday's contest winners of three straight and four of its last five contests. Muskingum looks to turn things around after losing its conference opener. 

The Coaches: Steve Spirk returns to coach his 30th year for the Wilmington women's soccer team. Spirk has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances including five berths in the regional semifinal ("Sweet 16") round. Six Wilmington teams have claimed regular season conference titles under Spirk's tutelage including three OAC titles in a span of four years from 2000-03. Dani Gunderson is in her second year as the head coach for Muskingum. Dani recently coached at Denison University earning one regular season conference title and one conference tournament championship.

The Players: Maddie Scott leads the way for the Quakers with three goals on the season. Elizabeth Matthews and Maddie Scott each have two assists. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Galloway has not allowed a goal in three games and has six clean sheets overall. Freshman Morgan Meisel has started her career with 11 goals in 11 games out of the midfield. 

OAC Player of the Week: Lauren Galloway is the reigning OAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. She, along a stout Quaker defense, didn't allow a goal in a pair of 1-0 wins last week.
