WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team returns to Williams Stadium in search of a victory when Wittenberg University comes to campus for a 7 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Wittenberg. Both teams are looking to enter the win column for the first time with the Quakers most recently falling 4-1 at the hands of Transylvania University and the Tigers dropping a 2-0 decision at Hope College.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk returns to coach his 30th year for the Wilmington women's soccer team. Spirk has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances including five berths in the regional semifinal ("Sweet 16") round. Six Wilmington teams have claimed regular season conference titles under Spirk's tutelage including three OAC titles in a span of four years from 2000-03. Katie Robinson, also Wittenberg's Senior Woman Administrator, is in her fifth season as the Tigers' head coach.

The Players: Wilmington junior goalkeeper Lauren Galloway, an All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) goalkeeper, has made 19 saves through three games this season. Maddie Scott and Jenna Victor have scored the Quakers' goals thus far this season. Emma Scheve has played all 29 minutes in goal for Wittenberg while Paige Kaiser is the lone Tiger to find the back of the net, doing so at Ohio Northern University in the season opener.

Series History: Wilmington is 13-11-6 against Wittenberg since the 1986 season. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie in the last meeting (in Springfield on Sept. 21, 2019). More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
