Women's Soccer Hosts Kenyon Tuesday Evening

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team looks to establish a winning streak heading into conference play when Kenyon College comes to Williams Stadium for the non-conference finale on Tuesday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Kenyon. The Fightin' Quakers enter the game with a 2-5-1 overall record after dispatching Franklin College 2-0 on Saturday. The Ladies are 4-5-0 overall and opened North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play with a 4-1 win against Allegheny College on Saturday.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk returns to coach his 30th year for the Wilmington women's soccer team. Spirk has led the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances including five berths in the regional semifinal ("Sweet 16") round. Six Wilmington teams have claimed regular season conference titles under Spirk's tutelage including three OAC titles in a span of four years from 2000-03. Kelly Bryan is in her 19th season as Kenyon's women's soccer coach.

The Players: Maddie Scott leads Wilmington offensively with two goals scored and one assist for a total of five points. Six other Quakers have netted a goal while three of those individuals – Tiffany Hayes, Elizabeth Matthews and Jenna Victory – have also assisted on a goal. Sadie Gould has netted four goals for Kenyon while four other Ladies have found the back of the net twice.

Series History: Wilmington is 13-3-0 against Kenyon since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
