@DubC_LQB Preview: Ohio Northern

The Wilmington College women's basketball team has a chance to get leap into Ohio Athletic Conference title contention as the Fightin' Quakers host unbeaten, and seventh ranked Ohio Northern. Wilmington, second in the OAC, trails the Polar Bears by two games in the league standings.

LAST MEETING: The Wilmington College women's basketball team went on a nearly seven minute drought to open the second half enabling #18 Ohio Northern to take control of the game, and the Fightin' Quakers fell 78-51 at the ONU Sports Center.

A two-point halftime deficit ballooned to 14 points as Ohio Northern scored the first 12 points of the half. By the end of the 10-minute session, Wilmington trailed by 13 points and couldn't get its deficit to under double figures.

Senior Brittaney Jefferson, sophomore Mackenzie Campbell and freshman Morgan Ritz all tallied nine points each to lead Wilmington.

Sophomore Jenna Dirksen is the third ONU player in double figures with 10.5 points. She finished with 18 points in the first meeting.

SECOND TO NONE: Wilmington currently holds a one-game lead over Baldwin Wallace in Ohio Athletic Conference standings.

1,000 POINTS: Senior Brittaney Jefferson is the 14th player in school history to reach 1,000 points, and the first since Kortney Kin achieved the feat in 2010.

CAMPBELL'S SOUP: Sophomore Mackenzie Campbell leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 15.5 points per game. Campbell has scored at least 10 points in all but two games this season.

She is fourth in the league, and is the top guard, making 51.0 percent of her shots.

PROUD MARY: Senior Mary Moyer leads the OAC in rebounding with 9.8 boards, including a career-high 18 rebounds earlier this season. She has three double-doubles this season and 10 in her career. Moyer has eight double-figure rebounding efforts this year.
