@DubC_Swimming leads Academic OAC contingent

AUSTINTOWN – Twelve Wilmington College student-athletes have earned Winter Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors, the league announced.

Women's swimming accounts for more than half of the honorees with seven, including all three of the school's perfect GPA performers in junior Samantha Glish (Louisville, KY/Ballard; Mathematics/Business Administration), junior Rachel O'Donnell (Seven Hills, OH/Normandy; Psychology/Criminal Justice) and sophomore Emory Triance (Norwood, OH/Norwood; Biology).

The rest of the women's swimming honorees were junior Susan Householder (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster; Agriculture, 3.97), senior Haley Rowland (Fairborn, OH/Xenia Christian; Education, 3.96), senior Elyse Spraul (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame; Business Administration, 3.89) and sophomore Ellyse Herr (Edison, OH/Mount Gilead; Spanish, 3.74).

The men's swimming team boasts three honorees in junior Ben Ball (Gallipolis, OH/Gallia Academy; Agriculture, 3.58), Jared Riffle (Gallipolis, OH/Gallia Academy; Biology, 3.54) and junior Cody Nash (Kingsbury, CA/Kingsburg; Agriculture, 3.52).

Two members of the women's basketball picked up the academic honors, sophomore Mackenzie Campbell (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin; Exercise Science, 3.97) and junior Savannah Hooper (Leesburg, OH/Wilmington; Biology, 3.95).

The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and a have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
