@DubC_LQB Preview: Mount Union

The Wilmington College women's basketball team kicks off Ohio Athletic Conference action 3 p.m. Saturday, hosting Mount Union at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

SERIES: Wilmington leads the overall series, 20-13, with the two teams splitting the last six games. Prior to the last three seasons, Mount Union won seven of eight meetings.

THE LAST TIME: With the game hanging in the balance, Brittaney Jefferson took over.

The point guard scored 12 of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as Wilmington ended the regular season with the 67-54 victory over Mount Union on February 20th in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

Mary Moyer recorded her fifth double-double, and her second in the last three games, with 13 points and a career-high tying 14 boards. Mackenzie Campbell added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Campbell finished the regular season leading all Ohio Athletic Conference freshmen in both scoring and rebounding.

MEET THE PURPLE RAIDERS: Mount Union comes to Fred Raizk Arena on a two-game winning streak after beating Oberlin, 67-42, Monday.

Sophomore Rachel Tinkey came off the bench to hit five three-points in tallying 17 points. She is third on the team in scoring with 7.0 points per game. Her 10 three-pointers (10-of-31, 32.3 percent)are second on the team.

Senior Abby Bartoszewicz is averaging 11.8 points per game and three three-pointers (15-of-34, 44.1 percent) per contest. After a slow start, she has scored in double figures in each of the last three games, including a season-high 22 in the loss to SUNY New Paltz.

Mount Union takes a ton of outside shots with 41.7 percent of its shots coming from three-point range. The Purple Raiders also hits the glass, pulling down 34 percent of their missed shots. The team is winning the battle on the boards by 8.6 rebounds per game.

PRESEASON POLL: Wilmington was picked to finish third in the Ohio Athletic Conference preseason poll behind reigning OAC regular season champion Ohio Northern and Baldwin Wallace.

WELCOME BACK: Senior Ashley Andracki returns for her fifth year after missing all of the 2015-16 season with an injury. She has stabilized the Wilmington offense, averaging 7.0 points with 10 assists and just three turnovers. Andracki is seventh in the league with a 3.3 assist to turnover ratio.

FRESHMAN ALL-AMERICAN: Sophomore guard Mackenzie Campbell returns after earning freshman All-American honors from Women's DIII News. The reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year is coming off a season-high 23 points in the win over Earlham. She leads the team with 15.5 points and is third with 4.8 rebounds.

MOVIN' ON UP: Senior Brittaney Jefferson, after scoring just 20 points in the first three games, exploded for 23 points in the win over Earlham. She added a career-high five steals in the victory.

GIFT OF GIVING: Wilmington is second in the OAC with 16.8 assists per game. In the win over Olivet, WC assisted on 25 of the team's 32 baskets. Mount Union is right behind the Fightin' Quakers with 16.4 assists.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL: Junior Savannah Hooper is second in the league in assist to turnover ratio at 6.0 with six assists and one turnover. She is also third on the team with 9.5 points and leads the team with eight three pointers.
