@DubC_LQB Preview: Muskingum Muskies

The Wilmington College women's basketball team travels to Muskingum 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action. 

SERIES: Wilmington has won 30 of the teams' 36 meetings, including the last four.

THE LAST MEETING: The Wilmington College women's basketball scored went on a 10-0 run late in the game to beat Muskingum Wednesday, 71-63, in Ohio Athletic Conference play at the Muskingum Recreation Center.

Mackenzie Campbell finished with 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds and three assists, while Mary Moyer added 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and nine boards. Brittaney Jefferson contributed 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting and two rebounds.

MEET THE MUSKIES: Muskingum had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 69-63 loss to Heidelberg. The Muskies have won, however, five of their last seven games.

Sophomore Dana Parkman came off the bench to lead the team with 13 points, while junior Caitlyn Smith added 12 points and junior Alexandra Carson had 10. As a team, the Muskies shot just 15 percent (3-of-20) from beyond the arc.

On the season, senior Mallory Taylor leads the team with 10.6 points and 7.9 rebounds, while junior Hallie Stocker is also scoring 10.6 points per contest. Carson is third on the team with 9.7 points and leads the team with 2.9 assists.

SECOND TO NONE: The two teams, along with Baldwin Wallace, are tied for second place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with identical 4-2 records.

PRESEASON POLL: Wilmington was picked to finish third in the Ohio Athletic Conference preseason poll behind reigning OAC regular season champion Ohio Northern and Baldwin Wallace.

1,000 POINTS: Senior Brittaney Jefferson is the 14th player in school history to reach 1,000 points, and the first since Kortney Kin achieved the feat in 2010. She currently stands at 1,004 career points.  

CAMPBELL'S SOUP: Sophomore Mackenzie Campbell leads the team and is tied for fourth in the conference with 15.0 points per game. Campbell has scored at least 10 points in all but one game this season.

She is second in the league, and is the top guard, making 51 percent of her shots. She is also 73rd nationally in the field goal percentage.

WIPING THE GLASS: Wilmington comes into the game fifth in the league in rebounding margin at plus-2.9. The Fightin' Quakers are sixth in the league in offensive rebounds with 13.1 offensive boards. Wilmington is one of six teams between 13.0 and 13.8 offensive rebounds.

PROUD MARY: Senior Mary Moyer leads the OAC in rebounding with 9.9 boards, including a career-high 18 rebounds earlier this season. She has three double-doubles this season and 10 in her career.

IT'S A COLE WORLD: Senior Ja'Cole Tabor comes off the bench to provide the Fightin' Quakers with whatever is needed. A natural wing, Tabor has played all five positions this season.  She tallied a career-high 14 points in the win over Baldwin Wallace, and has reached double figures in three of the last four games.

POINTS: Wilmington College is tied for fifth with Muskingum, scoring 66.7 points per game, and fourth in scoring defense – allowing 60.6 points per game.
