WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team heads to Northeast Ohio this weekend for the long-awaited 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet, hosted at the Spire Institute, is scheduled to run from Thursday-Saturday.

The Schedule: Morning preliminaries are scheduled for 10 a.m. each day with evening finals slated for 6 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by the other four OAC schools that sponsor swimming and diving at the varsity level - Baldwin Wallace University (hosts), John Carroll University, the University of Mount Union and Ohio Northern University.

The Coach: Trip Breen is in his 22nd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season.

Who to Watch: Macki Leon, an All-OAC honoree a season ago, has the sixth-fatest time in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events. Audrey Bibb and Ashley Carlson will also compete for the Fightin' Quakers in backstroke events. Symone Daniels has Wilmington's best marks in breakstroke events while Maryn Herring is seeded 15th in the 100-yard butterfly. Alyssa Harper is slated to swim in the 400-yard IM with the ninth-best time in the conference. Three Quakers - Emma Thompson, Margaret Hover and Olivia Bender - are scheduled to swim the 1,650-yard freestyle while Hover will also swim the 200-yard freestyle. Hannah Davis represents the top Wilmington individual in sprint freestyle as the senior is seeded 15th in the 50-yard freestyle event.
