Women's Swimming Opens Season With Dual at Ohio Northern on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team opens its long-awaited 2020-21 season with an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual meet at Ohio Northern University (ONU) on Saturday. Events are slated to begin at 1 p.m.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 22nd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. Austin Veltman is in his third season as ONU's head swimming and diving coach.

Who to Watch: Wilmington returns four seniors – Macki Leon, Margaret Hover, Kadie Grundy and Hannah Davis. Leon is a holder of six program records and was named All-OAC for a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke a season ago. Davis and Hover join Leon in the record books in two relays, the 400-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays. Sophomore Anna Endsley was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay that set a program record with a mark of 3:42.96 a season ago.
