Women's Soccer Earns League Point With Scoreless Draw at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – Thirty-eight total shots in 110 minutes of soccer didn't yield a single goal as the Wilmington College women's soccer team earned a point with a 0-0 draw in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action at Marietta College on Saturday evening.

After an even first half, the Pioneers had the better play in the second 45 minutes, doubling up the Fightin' Quakers in shots and more with a 15-7 advantage. The visitors flipped the script in the overtime sessions, however, firing six shots while surrendering just one in the final 20 minutes. Both goalkeepers – WC's Lauren Galloway with nine saves and MC's Drew Ulitcan with eight saves – weren't to be beaten.

The Quaker duo of Elizabeth Matthews and Maddie Scott combined for 10 of the team's 17 shots as well as five of the squad's nine on goal. Madi Wagner and Emmah Kronenbitter both had four shots to the Pioneers' offense.

Wilmington (5-7-2, 2-2-1) heads to Otterbein University on Wednesday.
