Taylor Watts Joins Softball as Assistant Coach

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College Head Softball Coach Megan Warren has announced the hiring of Taylor Watts as an assistant coach with the program.

"I am thrilled that Taylor will be joining our coaching staff," said Warren. "Taylor is obviously familiar with our conference and understands what is needed to be successful. I know she will bring a lot of knowledge to our team and her experiences will help make us better. I am excited for our players to get to know her and learn from her as we begin this new era for Wilmington College softball together."

Watts is no stranger to the Ohio Athletic Confernece having been a five-year softball player at Marietta College. A four-year starter with the program as an outfielder, she appeared in 151 games and hit a .295 cliip with 78 runs scored. Watts drew 38 walks in her final two years as a Pioneer and helped Marietta to an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2023.

"I am thrilled to remain in the OAC and very grateful to work with and learn from Head Coach Megan Warren," said Watts. "I can't wait to start working with our talented group of individuals and share my knowledge of the game to help them succeed and reach their goals. Go Quakers!"

Outside of the being a student-athlete, Watts worked as an assistant coach with the Ohio Sting, a travel softball organization based in Columbus. She coached players aged 18-and-under, assisted practice planning and registering for six tournaments in the summer. During the end of 2022, Watts interned with the Bacon Raton Bowl working with the University of Toledo. 

Watts graduated from Marietta in the spring of 2023 with a degree in business management and communication studies.
