NEW CONCORD- The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team competed in the final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet, hosted by Muskingum University, on Saturday. Going into the final day of competition, the Fightin' Quakers were sitting tenth with three points. At the end of today's competition and after the final point tallies, WC took seventh-place with a total of 33 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Friday's Results:

  • Junior Alex Tillapaugh (Wilmington, OH/Wickenburg) was the lone Fightin' Quaker to score in an individual event on the first day of competition. Tillapaugh took eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 48.76-meters.

  • JuniorsHunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) andGriffin Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia), freshmenJeff Clydesdale (Circleville, OH/Logan Elm) andGage Egner (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester), and sophomoreMatthew Baker (Liberty Center, OH/Liberty Center) who joined together for a 3200-meter relay. The quintet earned seventh-place with a time of 8:16.74.

• Junior Antone Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) became the Ohio Athletic Conference Champion in the men's high jump this afternoon by clearing 2.01-meters.

• Junior Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) who was seeded seventh going into the today's finals of the 110-meter hurdles as a result of his preliminary run Friday. Burnam finished seventh with a time of 15.69.

• Freshman Kaner Butler (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) was also seeded seventh going into his final event this afternoon, the 400-meter hurdles, as a result of his preliminary run. Butler improved his standing by one place in finals, finishing in sixth with a time of 56.43.

• Junior Eric Flynn, Jr. (Cleveland, OH/Central Catholic) and freshmen Adam Knaub, Aaron Koch (Goshen, OH/Goshen), and Butler joined forces for a 4x100-meter relay. The quartet earned sixth with a season best time of 44.30.

• Flynn, Jr., Burnam, Koch, and Butler represented WC in the 4x400-meter relay, and were also awarded sixth-place with a seasonal best time of 3:23.79.

• G. Stith, H. Stith, Clydesdale, and Egner banned together for a shorter race today, the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet was awarded seventh-place from a time of 8:16.74.

• Both Burnam and Truss competed in the triple jump. They earned fifth (12.98m) and eighth (12.46m), respectively.

• "I'm really proud of the way our team hung in there. We had some adversity in the prelims on Friday and then had to deal with the weather delay and issues today. I thought our athletes took advantage of the opportunities we had in today's events. They battled hard all weekend long and I'm really proud of the efforts they gave."

• For the majority of the team, this meet marked the conclusion of the season. Those that are close to qualifying for NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships will continue on to Great Lakes Regionals in Delaware, OH on May 18.
