AUSTINTOWN – Wilmington College junior Antone Truss has been honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference for his performance this weekend at Transylvania, the league announced today.

Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) earned OAC Male Field Athlete of the Week.

"It was a great opening meet for Antone," said Wilmington College head coach Ron Combs. "I think he is motivated to bounce back after (indoor) Nationals, where I think his nerves got the best of him. He's really motivated and focused, and I'm excited to see what he can accomplish during the outdoor season."

He won the high jump with a stadium record leap of 2.08 meters, which leads the OAC and is second in Division III.

The track and field teams travel to Hanover Saturday.
