WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's swimming team heads to Northeast Ohio this weekend for the long-awaited 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet, hosted at the Spire Institute, is scheduled to run from Thursday-Saturday.

The Schedule: Morning preliminaries are scheduled for 10 a.m. each day with evening finals slated for 6 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by the other four OAC schools that sponsor swimming and diving at the varsity level - Baldwin Wallace University (hosts), John Carroll University, the University of Mount Union and Ohio Northern University.

The Coach: Trip Breen is in his 22nd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season.

Who to Watch: Michael Phillippe will compete in the 200-yard IM as well as both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. Both Ian Darras and Samuel Shanes will compete in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events while Cameron Bolen, once named the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, is seeded in the top 16 in both the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard freestyle. Dane Klosterman will represent the Quakers in backstroke events while Aaron Polk is slated to compete in the 200-yard butterfly. For freestyle events, Shanes (1,650-yard freestyle) and Logan Schroer (50-yard freestyle) both have top-16 times in the conference.
