Men's Swimming Hosts Hiram in Dual Meet Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's swimming team hosts Hiram College in a dual meet at the Wilmington Natatorium on Saturday. The first event is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Hiram. The Fightin' Quakers most recently split a double dual meet has weekend, defeating Transylvania University and narrowly falling to Wittenberg University. The Terriers most recently finished fourth out of four teams in a meeting with the College of Wooster, Thomas More College and Notre Dame College.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 20th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. Dave Doolin is in his second season as Tranyslvania's swimming head coach while Noah Moran serves as the interim swimming coach at Wittenberg.

Who to Watch: The Fightin' Quakers' 200-meter medley relay team of Lawrence Daya, Frederick Rankin, Isak Alin and Logan Schroer beat the field at the double dual meet last weekend by over two seconds with a time of 1:55.18. Alin also won the 200-meter breaststroke (2:34.7) and the 200-meter IM (2:19.09) while finishing second in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:09.92). Daya claimed the title in the 100-meter backstroke (1:06.51) while finishing runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke (2:31.56). Schroer earned two runner-up finishes in the 100-meter freestyle (57.31) and 200-meter freestyle (2:09.85).
