Frederick Rankin Named OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Wilmington College men's swimming junior Frederick Rankin garnered Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week honors for his performance in the Fightin' Quakers' 155-41 victory over Hiram College in a dual meet on Saturday.

Frederick Rankin won four events for Wilmington in the event. The Frisco, Texas, native was victorious in the 50-meter breaststroke (32.00), 100-meter breaststroke (1:10.78), 50-meter butterfly (29.24) and the 200-meter medley relay (1:56.81) where he was joined by Lawrence DayaIsak Alin and Logan Schroer.

"I am really happy for Freddie [Rankin], who has a lot to be proud of," Head Men's Swimming Coach Trip Breen said. "He has an outstanding work ethic that is definitely paying off for him right now. I am excited about his continued progression and look forward to watching him race as the season continues." 

Wilmington travels to the mid-season championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University this weekend.
