  • All Heart - WC Senior Had Liver Transplant a Year Ago This Week

    Wilmington College’s swim team is leading a campus-wide effort in promoting organ donation awareness that culminates with the observance of the national organization Donate Life’s Blue & Green Day Friday (April 19). The timing has special significance as a member of the team, senior Galen Carrington, had a liver transplant a year ago this week.

    Wilmington College swim coach Trip Breen bid adieu to the largest senior class in school history as the Fightin’ Quakers fell to Mount Union in the final meet before the Ohio Athletic Conference championships. The men’s fell to the Purple Raiders, 113-86, while the women’s team lost, 106-96.

    The Wilmington College men’s and women’s swimming teams fell for the first time this season, falling to Ohio Northern Friday. The men’s team fell to the Polar Bears, 187-44, while the women’s team lost, 170-57.

    The Wilmington College swim teams opened their home slate with victories over Baldwin-Wallace in Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday at the Hermann Court Natatorium. The men’s team won eight events to record the 119-86 win, while the women were victorious in seven events for the 132-73 win.
