Williamson Jr. & Ramirez Join Football Coaching Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Wilmington College Head Football Coach Corey Fillipovich has announced the hiring of N'Tare Williamson Jr. and Matthew Ramirez to his coaching staff.

Williamson will serve as running backs coach and offensive quality control while Ramirez will coach cornerbacks and serve as special teams quality control.

"Both N'Tare and Matt come from winning programs," said Fillipovich. "They both have seen what it is supposed to look like and how to get there. Both will be huge assets to building a winner here at WC!"

Williamson comes to Wilmington having served a half-year stint with Sports Information Solutions. There, he worked as a video scout, collecting and recording advanced College Football and NFL data based on a team's specific analytical needs. Additionally, Williamson penned scouting reports that we critiqued by NFL scouts. He also served as a site contributor to the SIS NFL Draft webpage.

A 2022 alumnus of fellow Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) member John Carroll University, Williamson was a member of the Blue Streak football team as an offensive lineman for two seasons and served as a student assistant coach afterwards. He helped film games and practices and assisted the coaching staff in scouting opponents.

Williamson achieved a double major at JCU in marketing and apply chain management. He went on to serve as an intern in the sports information department with a focus on statistics and graphics for event promotion.

Ramirez comes to Wilmington from the Pacific Northwest having been defensive backs coach for Stanwood High School in Washington for the past two seasons. There, he was responsible for the development of safeties, nickles and defensive backs while also assisting the offensive staff in breaking down opposing passing attacks.

Stanwood qualified for the state playoffs in both of Ramirez' years on staff. The 16 victories for Stanwood were more than the program had achieved the previous five seasons. The defensive backs earned eight All-League honors with three of those going on to garner All-League selections.

Prior to Stanwood, Ramirez worked for the campaign of United States Senator Tina Smith in St. Paul, Minnesota. His primary duties included managing digital marketing campaigns and social media as well as organizing in-person events targeted at Latino voting communities in Minnesota.

Wilmington opens its 2023 season against the College of Wooster in early September.
