Richmond and Parks Join Football Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College Acting Head Football Coach Corey Fillipovich has announced the hiring of Damontae Richmond and Tre'Quez Parks as assistant coaches with the program. Richmond will serve as linebackers coach and defensive quality control while Parks will work with the Fightin' Quakers' cornerbacks and special teams quality control.

"We are extremely excited to add Damontae and Tre'Quez to our coaching staff," said Fillipovich. "These guys have proved themselves on the field in the OAC, and I cannot wait to see what they do on the sidelines."

Richmond comes to Wilmington from fellow Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) member Heidelberg University where he served as the Student Princes's running backs coach since December. A 2022 graduate of Heidelberg with a degree in sport management, Richmond was a five-year member of the football program and a three-year starter at linebacker. An All-OAC honoree on defense during the COVID-19-altered 2021 spring season, he was a two-year captain and tallied 64 career tackles with two sacks and an interception. As a student, Richmond also aided the athletics department by working gameday management events and serving as a facility operations assistant.

Parks is no stranger to the program, and like Richmond, is a 2022 graduate having earned his sport management degree from Wilmington in the spring of 2022. A four-time All-OAC selection during his five-year career, Parks played in 43 of a possible 45 games in his career playing primarily safety. He tallied 376 career tackles for an average of 8.7 per game with 5.5 sacks and five interceptions, one each season. Parks' 376 career tackles are fourth-most in program history.

Wilmington opens its 2022 campaign at Southern Virginia University on Thursday, Sept. 1.
