Football Has Eight Earn Academic All-District Honors

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College football team had four individuals earn Academic All-District honors as the College Sports Communications (formerly known as CoSIDA) announced the honorees on Tuesday, Nov. 22. 

Kaleb Easley, Derek Larimer, Zac Schmidt, Zack Radabaugh, Austin Aiello, Trafford Dunn, Riley Hubbard and Noah Perry garnered Academic All-District honors and will be on the ballot for a chance at becoming an Academic All-American. In order to qualify for nomination for Academic All-District, student-athletes must meet the following qualifications:

  • Sophomore athletically or higher
  • 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher
  • Been enrolled at the institution for at least one calendar year
  • Starter or key reserve

Easley, a junior sport management major from Albany, played in all 10 games as a linebacker. He tallied 26 tackles including 1.5 for loss for forced a fumble against John Carroll University on Oct. 1.

Larimer, a junior education major from Columbus, appeared in all 10 games as a punter and reserve quarterback. He punted 59 times for an average of 33.1 yards per punt and nine pins inside the 20 yard line. 

Schmidt, junior exercise science major from Eaton, finished second on the team in tackles with 89 and led the squad in tackles for loss with 6.5. Once named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, he had two sacks, broke up three passes and tallied one interception. Schmidt garnered Honorable Mention All-OAC honors at season's conclusion.

Radabaugh, a sophomore sport management major from McArthur, talleid 16 tackles in eight games as primarily a special teams player but also a defensive back.

Aiello, a senior exercise science major from Grove City, made 47 tackles in 10 games. He broke up one pass and also blocked a kick agianst Marietta College on Oct. 15.

Dunn, a senior sport management major from Wellston, played all 10 games as a member of the defensive line. He tallied 34 tackles with one sack, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and blocked two kicks. Dunn garnered Second Team All-OAC honors.

Hubbard, a junior criminal justice major from Troy, started all 10 games in the center of the Quakers' offensive line. He was part of a unit that averaged over 90 yards rushing per game.

Perry, a sophomore agriculture major from Middletown, made 11 tackles with three sacks as a defensive lineman. He also forced fumbles against Capital University and at Ohio Northern University.

Wilmington finished its 2022 season with a 3-7 overall record including a 2-7 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contests.
