WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play for the 2021 spring season on Wednesday (note the date change) with a pair of matches against Otterbein University. First serve for the twinbill is slated for 6 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Fightin' Quakers, who had their most recent matches cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols, are in search of their first win on the season having most recently fallen at Ohio Northern University last Tuesday. The Cardinals are 11-1 on the season with the only defeat coming at the hands of Baldwin Wallace University.

The Coaches: A new era of Wilmington volleyball has arrived as Andy Riesenberg, an experienced coach at the NCAA Division I, II, III and club levels, enters his second season leading the program in the spring of 2021. The Mount St. Joseph University alumnus has spent time at Southern Illinois University, Xavier University and Ohio University as an assistant coach as well as a stint as head coach at NCAA Division II institution Lake Erie College. Monica Wright is in her 14ths season at the helm of the Otterbein volleyball program. A graduate of Wittenberg University, Wright has led the Cardinals to four OAC Championships (two regular season, two tournament) during her tenure.

The Players: A quartet of Quakers – Victoria Long, Rachel Kennedy, Sofia Thomas and Sydney Geibel – all average over a kill per set while Thomas and McKenzie Stringer combine to dish out over six assists per set. Libero Karley Schlensker is the team's leader in digs, averaging 3.22 per set. Morgan Hartman puts down nearly four kills per set to lead Otterbein offensively while three other Cardinals – Julia Vermillion, Anna Donner and Emma Linehan – each tally over two kills per set. Carlie Craycraft runs the Cardinals offense to the tune of over 10 assists per set.

Series History: Since the 2008 season, Wilmington is winless against Otterbein in 13 matches. More information can be viewed by visiting the link above.
