Williams Stadium and Hermann Court Receive Facelifts

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that's resulted in the cancelation and postponement of many athletics events, Wilmington College and its department of athletics remain committed to providing a great student-athlete experience. Both Townsend Field at Williams Stadium and Hermann Court inside Fred Raizk Arena had their playing surfaces revamped over the summer.

The turf at Williams Stadium, which is home to the Fightin' Quaker football, soccer, outdoor track & field and lacrosse teams, is a 24-7 slim film system installed by The Motz Group out of Cincinnati. A Schmitz Proplay 20 shock attenuation underlayment pad below the turf aids in the reduction of concussions. New goal posts and an end zone stop safety net are also brand new.

Hermann Court's facelift was completed by Final Floor out of Columbus. Alongside a new "Quakers" on the middle of the playing surface, the home to Wilmington basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams was also updated with new lines.

Competition for both facilities is slated to begin in 2021.
