Women's Track & Field Wins Three Events and Finishes Eighth at Otterbein Twilight

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team competed at the Otterbein Twilight meet this afternoon, hosted by Otterbein University. They finished 8th out of 19 teams with 40 points.

30 of the Quakers 40 points came from three event victories. Faith Duncan blew the field away in the Mile run with a time of 5:13.82 to win the event and score 10 points for the Quakers. Second place in the event had a time of 5:28.09.

Wilmington's 4x400m Relay team of Haley Cook, Kylee Schafer, Hayden Setty, and Madison Dietz dominated. They won the event with a time of 4:10.69 for 10 points, with second place Otterbein finishing in 4:14.70.

Abby Lodewyck continued her solid performances in the Hammer Throw this outdoor season, winning the event with a mark of 43.23m on her final throw to score 10 points for Wilmington. She won the event by over two meters. Lucy Trout finished second in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 41.02m on her second throw for eight points.

The final Quakers scorer was Kaitlynn Hickey, who scored two points in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.01m on her fifth attempt to come in eighth place. Hickey nearly scored in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 36.51m on her third throw but came away with a ninth-place finish.

What's Up Next

Wilmington is scheduled to take next weekend off, before competing in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Championships on May 2nd and May 3rd in Tiffin, Ohio.
