Duncan's Program Record Leads Women's Track & Field at Landon Bond Classic

(BEREA, Ky.) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team competed at the unscored Landon Bond Classic today, hosted at Berea College. The Quakers had multiple athletes with solid days, including Faith Duncan, who continues to break program records. She shattered the 1500 Meter Run program record this afternoon.

In that race, Duncan crushed the competition with a time of 4:38.69. The previous record was held by Tricia Steffan since 2014 and was a time of 4:53.70. Duncan also competed in the 800 Meter Run for Wilmington and finished second at 2:23.00.

Other top finishes for Wilmington included Abby Lodewyck winning the Hammer Throw with a mark of 43.40m on her fourth throw. Lucy Trout finished fifth in the event with a toss of 40.68m, and Amy Myers was seventh with a personal best mark of 39.01m.

Haley Cook was third in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 26.79 seconds. In the 100 Meter Dash, Madison Dietz was fourth with a time of 12.99 seconds and Rachel Spanfellner was sixth at 13.15 and Cook seventh at 13.16 seconds.

The Shot Put saw a pair of Quakers in the top-eight in Kaitlynn Hickey and Myers. Hickey was fifth with a mark of 11.13m, and Myers eighth with a toss of 10.47m. Meghan Cory was fourth in the 5000 Meter Run with a personal best time of 22:28.00, while Kaitlyn Rauch finished fifth at 22:48.26.

Dietz tied for fourth in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.17m. Both the 4x100 and 4x400 Meter Relay teams finished in fourth place. The team of Cook, Chloe Sutton, Dietz, and Spanfellner ran a time of 50.73 seconds in the 4x100 and Cook, Sutton, Hayden Setty, and Spanfellner finished the 4x400 Meter Relay in 4:23.09.

Myers finished seventh in the Discus Throw at 32.63m, and Emily Koch tied for seventh in the High Jump with a personal best clearance of 1.35m.
