Women's Track & Field Begins Outdoor Season at Cedarville Saturday Afternoon

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – After Faith Duncan opened the season on Friday night in St. Louis, Missouri, the rest of the Wilmington women's outdoor track & field team were in action on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open. The meet was hosted by Cedarville University. The Quakers finished in a tie with the University of Rio Grande for 10th place with 11 points.

A trio of Quakers scored during the day, with Haley Cook and Abby Lodewyck scoring four points and Kaitlyn Rauch earning three points for Wilmington. Cook competed in both the 200 and 400 Meter Dashes for the Quakers. She ran a 26.45 in the 200 but scored her four points in the 400 with a fifth-place finish at 1:00.13. Her time in the 400 is an outdoor personal best.

Lodewyck competed in the Hammer Throw and earned a fifth-place finish and four points with a toss of 43.06m on her very first throw of the event. Rauch was seventh in the 10,000 Meter Run with a time of 48:17.45 to score three points.

Senior Madison Dietz just missed out on scoring in the Long Jump, posting a mark of 4.93m on her third jump and finishing in ninth place. Dietz also competed in the 100 and 200 Meter Dashes, posting a personal best time of 26.62 in the 200.

Kaitlynn Hickey posted a top-ten mark for Wilmington in the Shot Put, finishing 10th at 11.08m on her second throw. This mark is an outdoor personal best for Hickey.

The Quakers compete next Saturday, April 6th in the Landon Bond Classic hosted by Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 A.M.
