Women's Track and Field Ties for Sixth at the Cedarville Collegiate Invite

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team competed at the Cedarville Collegiate Invite, hosted by Cedarville University on Friday. They finished the meet tied for sixth out of 16 teams with Shawnee State University and Midway University, scoring 24 points. Their top finishers in the meet were Lucy Trout who scored eight points and Kylee Schafer, who finished with seven points.

Trout highlighted the Quakers strong, 15-point effort in the Weight Throw with a second-place finish and a mark of 13.38m on her very first throw. This earned her eight points. Also scoring in the event for Wilmington was Abby Lodewyck with four points after a toss of 12.82m on her last throw gave her fifth place. Camya Calloway rounded out the Quakers showing in the event with three points in sixth place with a mark of 12.65m on her first throw.

Kylee Schafer scored multiple points in a pair of events for Wilmington. She began in the 60 Meter Dash prelims, running an 8.12 to earn her fourth place and a spot in the finals. Schafer finished sixth in the finals with a time of 8.17 for three points, just missing out on fifth place by a matter of milliseconds. Schafer's next scoring effort came in the 200 Meter Dash, finishing in fifth place at 26.74 seconds for four points.

The final scorer for Wilmington was Kaitlyn Rauch, who scored a pair of points in the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 23:44.36.
