15 Quakers Score in Win at Muskingum University Friday Afternoon

(NEW CONCORD, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's track & field team won the Muskie Meet #4 Friday afternoon at Muskingum University, scoring 117 points and just edging out host Muskingum, who finished with 115 points. This is the Quakers first win of the season and first indoor win since taking home the MSJ Invitational on January 22nd, 2022.

The Quakers had three individuals score 10 or more points in the meet, with 15 individuals scoring and the 4x200 Meter Relay team scoring. Leading the charge was Faith Duncan, who won the Mile at 4:59.41 to lower her school record in the event and earn 10 points. She also took second in the 800 Meter Run for another eight points after a time of 2:22.78. Abigail Derry just beat her out, as she won at 2:22.00.

Haley Cook won the 400 Meter Dash with a personal best time of 1:00.20 to earn 10 points. Cook was also a part of the Quakers winning 4x200 Meter Relay team that finished in 1:49.50 for 10 points. That team consisted of Kylee Schafer, Cook, Chloe Sutton, and Rachel Spanfellner.

The last double-digit scorer for Wilmington was Lucy Trout, who scored 10 points over two events. She was second in the Weight Throw for eight points, posting a mark of 13.85m on her first attempt. She was seventh in the Shot Put at 9.27m on her final attempt for two more points.

Sutton competed in both the 60 Yard Dash and the 200 Yard Dash along with being part of the 4x200 Meter Relay team. She was sixth in prelims of the 60 at 8.45 seconds, before just besting that time in the finals at 8.43 seconds for sixth place and four points. She scored five points in the 200 with a fourth-place finish at 28.04 seconds.

A trio of Quakers scored eight points in Kylee Schafer, Kaitlynn Hickey, and Amy Myers. Schafer scored eight points in the 60 Yard dash with a second-place finish at 8.09 seconds after running an 8.03 in the prelims. She was also a part of the 4x200 Meter Relay team.

Hickey had a solid toss of 11.29m on her final throw in the Shot Put to finish second and score eight points. She also competed in the Weight Throw. Myers set two personal bests at the meet in the Weight Throw and Shot Put. She scored two points in the Weight Throw with a mark of 12.32m on her second throw and was third in the Shot Put for six points with a toss of 10.80m on her final throw.

Emily Koch scored seven points and had a personal best in the Triple Jump. In that event, she scored five points with a jump of 8.27m on her first attempt. She took eighth in the High Jump for two points, clearing 1.29m on her second attempt before failing at 1.34m.

Hayden Setty and Meghan Cory both scored six points. Setty ran a personal best time of 2:31.29 in the 800 Meter Run for a third-place finish. Cory ran a personal best 11:54.97 in the 3000 Meter Run for a third-place finish.

Camya Calloway scored five points and finished fourth in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13.12m on her final throw.

Rachel Spanfellner, Kendal Staley, Bella Stevens, and Abby Lodewyck all scored three points for Wilmington. Spanfellner ran a personal best 28.27 in the 200 Meter Dash to finish sixth and was also part of the 4x200 Meter Relay team.

Staley ran a personal best 2:39.34 in the 800 Meter Run to finish sixth. Stevens ran a personal best 12:17.12 for a sixth-place finish in the 3000 Meter Run. Lodewyck was sixth in the Weight Throw with a mark of 12.73m on her fourth attempt.
