Women's Soccer Heads to Baldwin Wallace on Monday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team hits the road to Berea, Ohio, on Monday for a date with Baldwin Wallace University. Kickoff from George Finnie Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Fightin' Quakers enter the matchup with an  even 2-2-2 record having fallen to Otterbein University 4-0 at home on Friday. The Yellow Jackets are 2-3-0 on the spring season and most recently fell 1-0 at John Carroll University on Friday.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk is in his 29th year leading Wilmington's women's soccer team. The 1981 alumnus is a four-time All-American and one of the best players in men's soccer history. Spirk is the men's soccer leader in career goals (74), career assists (43), career points (191), single-season points (57 and 54) and season goals (22 twice). He has guided the Quakers to six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. Jim Wojtkun is in his fourth season as BW's head coach and has guided the Yellow Jackets to 35 wins.

The Players: Both Taylor Huffman and Ema Menges have five points for Wilmington's offense while Heidi Edens has also netted two goals for the Quakers. Lauren Galloway, the Quakers' netminder, has made 32 saves and a goals-against-average of 1.37. Taylor Tomlinson is the lone Yellow Jack to have scored multiple goals while Kaitlin McGuire, Maddie Farrell and Bella Reigle have all found the back of the net once.

Queens of Overtime: Four of Wilmington's six contests thus far this season have gone to overtime. The Quakers are 1-1-2 in those contests.

Series History: Wilmington is 20-8-2 against BW in the last 35 years. The Yellow Jackets have won each o the last two meetings by a score of 1-0, however. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
