Women's Soccer Hosts Mount Union on Sunday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team opens its home slate on Sunday with a 2 p.m. game against the University of Mount Union.

The Teams: Wilmington and Mount Union. The Fightin' Quakers enter the game unbeaten with a 1-0-1 record after a 3-0 victory at Muskingum University on Thursday. The Purple Raiders are 0-2-0 on the season and most recently fell 1-0 at John Carroll University on Thursday.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk is in his 29th year leading Wilmington's women's soccer team. The 1981 alumnus is a four-time All-American and one of the best players in men's soccer history. Spirk is the men's soccer leader in career goals (74), career assists (43), career points (191), single-season points (57 and 54) and season goals (22 twice). Kelley Clark, the winningest coach in program history, is in her 10th season leading her alma mater's women's soccer programs.

The Players: Heidi Edens has scored goals in both games for Wilmington while Taylor Huffman and Ema Menges both netted a goal in the win at Muskingum. Goalkeeper Lauren Galloway has surrendered just on goal in 200 minutes in net for a goals-against average of 0.45. Kassity Miller leads the Purple Raiders with six shots including four on goal.

OAC Fan Policy: The OAC President's Council has updated its spectator policy to allow two individuals per student-athlete to attend home contests.

Series History: Wilmington is 14-9-1 against Mount Union since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. The Quakers won last year's meeting 3-1 at Townsend Field. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
