Women's Soccer Hosts Marietta on Sunday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team looks to rebound from an overtime loss when Marietta College comes to Williams Stadium for a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-1-2 after a 1-0 overtime loss at Ohio Northern University on Thursday. The Pioneers sport an 0-3-1 record having fallen 4-0 at Capital University on Thursday.

The Coaches: Steve Spirk is in his 29th year leading Wilmington's women's soccer team. The 1981 alumnus is a four-time All-American and one of the best players in men's soccer history. Spirk is the men's soccer leader in career goals (74), career assists (43), career points (191), single-season points (57 and 54) and season goals (22 twice). Sean Kaighin is in his second season as Marietta's head coach.

The Players: A trio of Quakers – Heidi Edens, Taylor Huffman and Ema Menges – have netted a pair of goals for Wilmington while Carlie Brooks and Haley Fulton join Huffman in dishing out one assist. Goalkeeper Lauren Galloway carries a goals against average of 1.12 in over 400 minutes in net. Emma Giorio and Chloe Williams have scored Marietta's goals this season.

Series History: Wilmington is 15-6-2 against Marietta since becoming a member of NCAA Division III in the early 1990s. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
