Muqtadir and Shapiro Pick Up United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAMS

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Yusef Muqtadir and Brady Shapiro represented the Wilmington College men's soccer team's contingent on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region team, announced in late November. Muqtadir garnered Second Team honors while Shapiro appeared on the Third Team for the Great Lakes Region.

Muqtadir, a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection and a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, led Wilmington offensively with nine goals, four assists and 22 total points. He took a team-best 49 shots and tallied game-winning goals at Earlham College (Sept. 1), vs. the University of Mount Union (Oct. 9) and at Ohio Northern University (Oct. 13).

Shapiro helped anchor a Quaker defense that allowed under a single goal per game in the spring of 2021. He also contributed offensively, scoring two goals and assisting on five others for a total of nine points.

The Quakers finished the season 12-3-3 including a 5-2-2 mark in OAC play. For the second consecutive season, WC hosted an OAC Tournament game as the No. 3 seed.
