Yusef Muqtadir Named OAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Wilmington College men's soccer senior Yusef Muqtadir has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-6.

Muqtadir, a senior from Dayton, Ohio, led the Fightin' Quakers to an undefeated week by scoring three goals and dishing out one assist for a total of seven points. He scored the game's only goal in Wilmington's 1-0 win at Earlham College in the season-opener and netted two goals with an assist in the Quakers' 11-0 thrashing of Mount St. Joseph University in the final game of the Kiwanis Classic on Sunday.

"I'm really excited for Yusef to get this award as he is such an active player that creates a lot for our team," Head Men's Soccer Coach Alex Van der Sluijs said. "He trains so much on his own and demands a lot from himself. I know this award will only be more fuel for him to get better and help our team."

Wilmington (2-0-1) heads to Kalamazoo College for a 5 p.m. contest on Saturday.
